Job Title: Senior Manager (Civil/Structure) HKUST Guangzhou CampusJob ID: 4746Job Posting DetailsThe incumbent will lead a team of engineering professionals to assist senior management in ensuring that campus development project is planned and delivered on schedule to meet the HKUST's standards for the University campus in Guangzhou, i.e. HKUST (GZ). The appointee will be required to station and work in the Mainland, initially in Nansha, with occasional business travelling to Clear Water Bay Campus as required.Job Dutiesa. Review deliverables in feasibility studies, design drawing, specifications, tender documents, construction drawings and construction method statement;b. Prepare working program/planning/design and construction methods;c. Review with design consultants and local design institutes of the contractors' technical submissions and site works to ensure compliance with the required quality and safety standards;d. Define the best solution or method in the most cost-effective way;e. Implement the concept of smart campus, sustainability design, BIM, LEED, etc. in the project;f. Monitor the progress of the works, maintain comprehensive records and prepare thorough progress reports;g. Coordinate design and construction interface issues and proactively resolve potential clashes.Requirementsa. A bachelor's degree or above in Building/Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline; professional qualification (HKIE, CIOB, ICE) is desirable; higher qualification in project management, construction management or business management is preferred;b. A minimum of 12 years' relevant working experience in project/construction management of building, infrastructure development and on-site co-ordination of building projects among which a minimum of 8 years should be in the field of construction management; experience in managing R&D offices, university/institutional buildings, hospital, laboratory is preferred;c. Hands-on experience in managing international design consultants/local design institutes/contractors/Supervisory Team (Jianli) of large scale projects, claim and EOT assessment;d. Knowledge of statutory requirements and inspection/approval procedures in the Mainland;e. Be self-driven, independent with good problem solving and interpersonal skills;f. Excellent time-management, communication, technical writing, presentation, development, and organizational skills are required;g. High proficiency in English and Chinese (Putonghua) and be able to read and write in simplified Chinese.This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations.
